A Horse Trailer, Two Friends & a Banjo
Beanjo Coffee Company started the way most good things do in Lyons, Colorado — with a wild idea and a willingness to try. Charlie Rose and Andy Clark converted an old horse trailer into a mobile coffee roaster, serving cups at local gatherings and farmer's markets.
The name? Bean + banjo. Charlie is a Deering banjo artist, and the letterforms in our logo are traced straight from a Goodtime banjo box. The biplane overhead is a nod to John Hartford's bluegrass classic.
Today, Beanjo roasts small batches on a Bellwether electric roaster — zero emissions, certified organic, fair trade beans — and delivers to wholesale partners around Boulder County. Sometimes by golf cart.
